Corvette Style Center Caps
« on: November 16, 2010, 12:01:49 am »

I like this look better than the original rally center caps, and I'm thinking about doing it. What do most of you think about it?

Are there any adapter clips to fit these hubs to our original truck wheels? I found some adapter clips on eBay, but they're $80. Too much for 12 metal clips. Surely somebody has them for less.

I gotta say that is a really nice clean look. Looks very nice I would go for it I love seeing those rims on stuff like s10's but never saw a pic of one on the full size trucks and I am inpressed. When I get a half ton I will consider them but I am stuck with an 8 lug full floater so they won't look good on my truck even if you tried to.

At major swap meets in our area there is always a rim vendor that sells those uni-bolt rims in both painted silver and chrome.  They have the 4 3/4" pattern for the Chevelle and the 5" pattern for the trucks.

Here are the clips I'm talking about:

eBay listing for Adapter Clips

I emailed the seller and he says he can't take less than the $80 asking price + $10 shipping.  He said he had too much invested in tooling, so apparently he designed and made them himself.  But I'd probably just buy a used set of rims before I'd pay that much for the clips.

If you see anything similar in the future, please post back.

If you look at it as 12 small clips for $90 it sounds bad, but they're a one of a kind sort of thing...  I'd probably get em just because I like the vette caps better, and nobody else is gonna have them on those wheels.  plus if a rim ever gets damaged, all you'd have to do is find another truck rally which is common as dirt, instead of hunting for a vette wheel.

I bet if the price was cut in half he would sell more than the 4 sets he has sold.  Rallies would look great with the police caps or the early style Camero.
