87 silverado
« on: November 21, 2010, 02:15:06 pm »
Hi, I'm new to the site so I thought i would put pictures up of my latest future project.

It's an 87 silverado 350 TBI with 140,000 miles. i have detailed the engine somewhat and give the whole truck a GOOD cleaning.the old motor runs really strong but it needs dual exhaust it still has the old single with the original cat converter. The trans is pretty weak but other than that it's a pretty tight old truck. The paint is really thin in some areas but it cleaned up good. I got the rallys for free from a friend ( I owe him one) my cousin blasted the wheels before I repainted them. I painted the side moulding a gunmetal color for now until I can paint the truck and put new moulding on.

Vey nice machine. It looks to have been pretty well cared for.

My neighbor back home has an 87 exactly like yours.  I'm not kidding, same colors and everything, but his isn't quite as clean.  It's been sitting for about 5 years in his backyard.  He was pulling a trailer with it and the rear diff blew out locking it up. The trailer jackknifed and screwed up the bedside and bent the trailer hitch up pretty bad. I'm trying to talk him out of it so I can use it for parts. I'd love to have that 350 TBI for my 84.
