I took a beat up dash pad I had and in between watching paint dry I decided to see how it would turn out if I actually tried to fix it. I ground down all of the areas around the cracks and filled them with seam sealer. Later I wiped the whole dash with laquer thinner and put some body filler over the rough areas. I primed it and it looked pretty good. I decided since I don't really care about it to try making a stronger texture. I shot it with spatter paint and plan to DA the whole thing. Then I'll paint it and see how it looks/holds up.

I pulled out all of the foam under the speaker holes and put duct tape over the top. I filled it with foam and then used body filler over the top. I used the coverlay I had laying around as a template to redrill the holes. I'll finish it up tonight and see how it looks.

and after you did all of that did you just sand it all smooth?  there was one on here that they did in fiberglass that looked good, but once you get one of those done i would like to see how they turn out, thanks for all of the info so far!
