Pinion angle
« on: December 01, 2010, 05:05:10 pm »
I've got a 79 gmc 3/4 ton 4x4. Just put a new rear end, springs, and spring hangers on it and the old shims are in very bad shape. Its got 3" blocks, the pinion points up 2 degrees, the transfer case points down 2 degrees, and the driveshaft is at 10 degrees(if that even matters). Im pretty sure I measured everything right, but the truck wasnt on level ground either. Is this set-up going to be ok, or do I need shims?

From what your saying, your pinion and transfer case are even, so you should be good.
