Another new guy from Texas
« on: December 22, 2010, 10:58:21 am »
Howdy from God's Country. I'm a bit new to truck and car repair. Bought an 86 K10,  figured it would be a good vehicle to learn on. I've lurked here for a little bit and have already found out more than I thought was possible.

Welcome from ND. So what's on the to-do list for your 86?

Welcome from ND. So what's on the to-do list for your 86?

Everything.

Interior:
Replace Dashboard and guages
Weather stripping for doors and windows

Exterior:
Replace a couple panels and a couple other spots that rusted

Suspension:
Replace front leaf springs
Tie Rods
Shocks

Engine:
Remove EGR (if legal)
Install electric fan

Drivetrain:
U joints on rear shaft
T-Case leak where the halves come together

And anything else that comes up

At least the brakes where overhauled before I got it.

Welcome from Louisiana. There are some of the sharpest, most creative and just plain nice guys in here that you will find anywhere. You will learn a lot more in the future.
