It's pretty loud on the freeway and when I take off from a stoplight. I'm now looking for a 5 speed, then I'll get carpet back in it.

My 83 has never had carpet, a couple of 6"x9"s and a 8" sub and you don't hear the road noise haha.  One thing I have been considering is something call Lizard Skin I think, it's a spray on sound deadner, looks a little thinner than dyna-mat I think.

Ok cool, maybe ill just take it out, but then I gotta get a system so drown out the noise haha. I saw a thread on here where someone carpeted their truck with the $8 walmart auto carpet and it looked good too, so I'm torn on what to do....

The last few months have been exciting, but most of it pales to finally getting my truck lowered this last weekend. Still needs some work, but it is coming along nicely.

How is it not having carpet on your floor? Is it really loud or anything? My carpet is all torn up with insulation coming out and I was thinking of ripping it all out and just have nice clean paint underneath :)

I did this, never had the carpet so I can't tell you a comparison, but it isn't loud or hot or anything in my opinion, plus its easy as pie to clean.

It will be louder and floor will be warmer anytime you have less between you and the motor sound and road noise and heat

I have to say those dodge rims and tires look a lot better now that it is lowered.....looked a little funny before.

It came down about 5/7. I flipped the rear end with saddles I got from a vendor on 67-72. I need to get shock extenders for it, the rear is bottomed out. The front is drop spindles and 1 cut coil. The spindles are some no name guys I got on off a parts truck about 4 years ago.

truck is looking sweet.  I had to laugh about the circle K.  I pictured the one on 60 as you come into Globe.  I used to stop there all the time when I was a kid.

Well... Let's see. I've been on breaks from the forums lately.  I haven't done much to the truck in the last 6 months but cruise it.  About 7 months ago I had the frame repaired around the steering box.  Then,  put new tires on it.

Now,  well the 465 is making a terrible noise in 3rd gear.  It has been for a while now,  and the truck has been limited to surface street cruising.  I bought another 465 for it yesterday,  and I'll be putting it in this weekend.  I also ordered a EZ-wiring universal harness for it.  It's time for the cobbled/patched up factory harness to go.  I've got a small list to knock out before it gets hot again. I'll update as I get into stuff. And I'll be adding some pics later on tonight.
