custom truck pics
« on: February 26, 2003, 03:21:00 pm »
this goes out to anyone that has a website featuring their LOWERED 85-87 shortbed chevy fullsize truck.  i'm working on lowering my own and i like to get ideas from other's work.  also, i'd like to see some interiors that some of you have done.  like LOHRTBT, i'm dying to see what the tweed and white APC guages looks like in that truck.  if you have a link to a page or can provide me with photos, please let me know..

My truck isn't lowered, but you may be interested in some of my interior shots.  I took a very different approach than LOHRTBT, so that should give you a couple good, but different perspectives.

Looks really good man, Got two questions for ya.
where did you get the K&N Filter stuff and how hard was it to swap out those gauges. They look nice. Ive got two 'mounted' on my steering wheel. It works i guess. But I like the way yours looked.

pretty nice interior, phaon1.  pretty close to mine right now.  i, too have the billet dash and door panel inserts, and my interior is that same blue, but i've painted everything else to match perfectly with a midnight blue fabric paint i found that matched perfectly.  yeah, a fabric paint on plastic!  it worked fine, just had to hit it all with about 3 coats of plasti-kote clear coat.  and i've replaced all the carpet, which i'm now fabric coloring to match better..for more details, my webpage: hometown.aol.com/emd86trck/myhomepage/index.html

the guages were a b**ch to swap out.  I'm happy with how they turned out, but it took some doing to get them like that.  If you want details on how it was done, there is a VERY long post somewhere back a ways on this board that I wrote detailing the process.  The K&N stuff you can buy from jegs or summit, they both carry a full line of K&N stuff.
86silveradoeric - the clear coat is a good idea.  I'm going to look into that to protect my recently painted interior :D .

Hey there 86SilveradoEric. I checked out your webpage, and I have to say we have alot in common. I live in Arlington Tx. , live at home with my parents, and am working my way thru school. I drive an 87 GMC pickup shortbed pickup truck. When I got it it had only 75,000 original miles on it. That was 5 years ago, and it's over 100k now, but it's still fairly low milage for it's age. I'm always trying to make little improvements to my truck as well. Just like you said on your webpage, everyone knows my truck is my baby. I also like to watch Star Trek TNG too. Anyways, I'm not really into lowering mine or anything like that, but I just thought I'd post on here since we seem to have so much in common. I really like your webpage, but you don't have any kind of contact info on there. I have a webpage for my truck as well. It was a class project and is still kinda a work in progress, but you can check it out if you like....
