front end 4 link

hey guys. I am planning on a lift in my 87 swb 1/2 ton 4x4, but i don't like the harsh ride (as i have had several lifted Chevys). What i am planning is an air bag system. so i guess what i really would like to know is the pros and cons of a front 4 link, or ladder bar with a panhard, triangulated? idk. I don't need to do all the up and down stuff. any and all info would be greatly helpfull. thanks

I recommend the double triangulated 4  link,  the only downside is it requires the most fab work, as it it custom designed for your particular ride.

     I agree, I have not done this on a chevy truck, but done many on jeeps, scouts, and 60 era bronco's.

hey thanks guys i forgot to mention that i also dont plan on wheeling this thing. do i need to worrie about anti squat numbers.

     If you NEVER plan on wheeling the truck, it gives you a little flexibility on how you set it up, but it still has parameters.  Though if you ever want to wheel it, you will wish you took the extra steps when you set it up, just my opinion.

its not like ill never wheel it. its just not going to be hard core. where i live we get snow and play in the mud and have som fun with it but im not going through the rubicon with it. it is basicly going to be my dd with some weekend fun. my big concern is drivability. i dont want any negative affects.

     There are several good articles on 4 links out there, I learned that way, if you have anybody around there that has done it and willing to help you, it really is not that hard, just the calulations for the setup is.  Check around for shops who do it and ask lots of questions.  Good luck.
