Possible newbie from Alberta

Well, thought I'd step in here for some advice from the experts.  I don't own a truck yet, but have an excellent opportunity to buy a decently running 74 1/2 ton C10.  An old co-worker has had it for sale for a couple of years with no buyers and he approached me the other day and asked if I'd be interested.

It's got a fairly decent running 350, a new trans 3000 km's ago, some God awful aftermarket sunroof, cheesy topper and very little rust.  I'm in the middle of a VW Beetle project, but something that is running and driving that I can tinker with as I'm going would be nice.  I can tear down and rebuild an SBC with my eyes closed so that's no problem and any other work that needs done will also be handled by myself.

So for the princely sum of 300 bucks would this be too good to pass up?  heck, even if I snag it up and flip it I'd probably be ahead.  The one reason I really want it is project Knucklebuster that Stacey David built on Gearz.  One of the nicest and simplest trucks (albeit not exactly the "budget build" it was touted as) I have ever seen.

What do you all think?  I have a feeling that it would be stupid to pass this up.  If I get out to check it out within the next couple of days, I'll snap some pics.

Welcome to the 73-87 family.  Even if this one don't work out another is just around the corner... But I'd say for the $ snatch it up before someone else does.

Sounds like a good buy and it's always handy to have a truck around the house.
I started with an audi a4-pretty nice car but it started having very expensive problems so I had to sell it and bought an '82 4X4 to drive until it was sold. After that I decided I needed one of these truck as a project. The 82 was a solid project but I wanted a swb 2wd project. Sold the '82 and found the one I wanted. so here I am lots and lots of hours and lots of dollars later and I can't think of a better way to spend it.

Welcome... this site is great for advise and parts....
 You're pretty close to me, make sure you bring the new truck to street wheelers if you buy her. would be cool having a bunch of square bodys cruizing together.

I'm just concerned about the price. Why wouldn't anyone buy it for that you could scrap it and make money. But for 300 buy it

I don't think he's done any advertising at all.  More a word of mouth thing, and even then I don't think he's told many people.

He's quite well off as well so I don't really think he's to worried about it.  Oh well!  His loss is my gain!

Been trying to get out to where it is for a couple of days now, but I've been fighting a cold and the weather isn't exactly cooperating out here!

And where abouts are you from in NFLD?  The wife and I will be out your way in July to visit the in-laws?  We'll be just south of St. Johns in Seal Cove.

Personally, I couldn't live with myself if I passed up a running vehicle of any kind for $300.
