bench seat repair

I have a bench seat that seems to lean towards the drivers door when I seat in it. My guess is that there must be some kind of broken spring inside it. Has anybody ever fixed on of these and if so how. also how hard was it to do. please give lots of detail if you have done this before

     They sell a kit to repair these seats.  The first time I paid and watched a guy who does custom interiors, next time I bought a kit and did it myself.  It is not all that hard if you have seen it before.  Basically, you have the metal part of the seat which is comprised of springs on some, metal looms ( at least I call them that), the outside metal frame.  Then it is the foam top and bottom.  Then the seat covers, or the material that covers them.
     If you have a problem with the internals of you seat, once you get it apart you will be able to see how easy it is to repair or even make it stiffer if you want.
     Basically search u-tube or the internet and watch a video on how to do it.  Then order your kit, and take a Saturday and fix your seat.  Really not that hard.  Good luck and keep us posted.

What year seat?  If it is leaning it could be a bad cushion or broken "stringers"  I sell the seat foam for these (no back foam for 82-ups)

i can hear a clicking sound when i push down on it so it sounds like a bad clicker as you said. Is this hard to fixc and if not how do u do it.

     The stringers are usually wrapped around the main metal rods with a twist to hold them on.  You would have to strip down your seat to get to them, if this is something you are not comfortable with check into local shops that fix seats and ask how much they would charge.

I fixed my seat issues by buying a beatout 84 chevy farm truck. the motor didnt run but the seat and the rest of the interior was awsome. I paid for the truck what it would have costed to refurbish my original seat by a local outfit. The bonus was i also needed a dash pad and seat belts,door trim. This truck had all that in good shape and it was oem also, all that for 400 bucks. The only thing was i had to put it in a 75 so i had to modify the dash structure a little. So the end result is i have a 84 interior in my 75. For me it was easy to get used to considering how much i saved,and it looks better than i ever thought it could.
