Power door wire routing

i traded a guy yesterday my manual regulators and panels for a set of power window, lock and door panels. Im testing the wiring now before i put it all in, just in case there is a problem anywhere, better safe the sorry.

anyway i was wondering what the size of the holes are in the door and cab that the wiring goes through? ill be taking my doors off this week to cut them and bolt the boots up, and i dont have a reference to go off of. i know there are dimples for them but no idea if its 1in, 1.5.... ect.

also how does the wring route in the door? does it go al inside near the glass or run outside under the interior panels? any pics would be great.

holes are a little smaller that the opening in the boot. Wires run inside the door, then poke out through one of the openings near the switches.

When you swapped everything out did you also get the rubber boot that goes between the door and the fender. If not find some from a junkyard or somewhere before you drill the holes. I have done the same swap and you can't buy them. That way if you have to go with after market you can match the hole to the boot. Just my opinion.

yep i got the boots off the guy, one is really ripped, almost all the way around, so my buddy out in Alberta found a mint one at a wrecker and is mailing it to me. the pick and pulls around here rarely have any of our trucks for some reason, fining parts is a nightmare lol.

im gonna plug it all in this evening and see if it works out of the truck first, i just gotta find out which fuse box ports are E and W.

 the wiring i got off the guy is from a burban or crew, there is a bunch of wires just cut off that woulda gone back there, and the plug at the switches has a few disconnected also, i wanna make sure the right ones are there before starting in, it would be terrible if its all screwed up.

ok i need some help,  im trying to fish the wiring harness from the door through the cab.

i cant get it to go through the hole that's under the dash, am i supposed to remove the plugs and fish the wires? or is there another hole under the dash im supposed to drill?

also running the door harness through the cab pillar seems like a backwards way of doing things lol.

It should go through an existing hole. I would run the cab harness through the pillarfrom outside to inside.

i ended up taking the plugs off the wires from the door harness and ran it through carefully, it took a few hours but i got it. now its the other side to do... lol
