6 1/2"s will fit nicely into Q-Forms in the kick panels. You can get them for 150 bucks at sounddomain.com. They are a custom fit for our trucks, and come in factory colors. I am getting some myself.

From which stereo shop did you get these black brackets?
Thanks,

I purchased them locally (Pocatello, Idaho) from Kyle at Sound Source. Their telephone number is (20
233-0011. He had a hard time finding them for me, but maybe he knows where to get them now. Good luck!

Hey MTW,
QUOTE: I picked out a JVC CD player because it had a volume KNOB and a brushed aluminum finish that will blend in with my truck dash well.
Do you have the model number of that unit? Can you get any pics of it. I too do not want to cut up my dash to fit an aftermarket radio in there. Man I thought I was gonna be stuck with this stock radio for life.

just for reference.....they make aftermarket stereo's that look and fit just like the factory units,,,but are just like the premium units like pioneer,jvc,sony,,etc..they have cd, high power,,etc...look in catalogs like
www.yearone.com
. there are "other" catalogs out there that offer similar products. peace

Hey Guys, I'm new to your site, but being a 17 yr old teenager and owning a 1983 C10, I just had to put tons of speakers in it. My truck did not come with factory speaker brackets. I thought long and hard about putting 6x9's in the cab corners, then thought about 5x7's, then dual 5 1/4's, but I settled on the idea of 4x6" speakers (I hate the look of 4x10's), I made some panels to fit in the space and carpeted them with regular speaker box carpet. I personally like Pyramind Gold Series mid-ranges because they are high quality and low priced. Go to the installations section of [link=http://www.geocities.com/speakerboxesbybob/first.html newwindow]MY SITE[/link] for some pictures of what this looks like in my truck. For those who are interested, I will build and carpet this panel and send them to you for $30 including shipping.

I competed in three local car stereo shows (SPL) and came home with three 1st place trophies.
My system has (4) Bazooka 10" Subs, Crunch 1200 watt amp pushing them, JDL 400 watt 4ch.(Mounted under dash on passenger side wall, out of sight) pushing 2 competition tweeters and 2 Pyramid Gold Series 4" 2 ways in dash. 6 more tweeters in the sub box, and the two 4x6's.
