Haven't fired it yet but plan to try and get out this weekend and run some rounds throught her.
Now my 1987 year 17 has a little sister.

Nice. I had a 26, ended up trading it for a 23, and been shooting .40 s&w ever since. I switched over to the Springfield XD series a few years back, and now my EDC is an xd40 subcompact. It's tough to find anything bad to say about a Glock.

I was looking for something a little smaller for an ankle holster. I carry the 17 on my belt but that tends to make people a little uneasy in the warmer T shirt weather! I figured I owned a 24 year old Glock, and have never done anything to it I couldn't go wrong. Plus the 17 clip works in the 26, and they share internal parts, and ammo size. This on is 4 years old but I am pretty sure its not had much more than a box or two of ammo through it. The ramp has no marks on it at all.I wouldn't mind a Glock 40 or a 45. Maybe next time? Actually I think my next hand gun will be a Ruger not sure what model yet. My father worked at Sturm Ruger for 24 years.

In the summer I use this (the universal auto one) on my XD and carry small of back
http://www.clipdraw.com/store/index.php?rn=392&action=show_detail
It's secure and low profile but not as comfortable as an IWB holster

Those are pretty cool, I like. Still visible to kids, and such though. I am not ashamed of carrying but on the same token I don't want to uneducated people including some law officers to freak out!! If you know what I mean.
I wear T shirts, and jeans most of the time so I think the ankle holster should work well. I tuck my shirts in. I am thinking about buying a belly band as I don't tuck shirts in when I wear shorts.

Belly band looks like a nice product, but I dont know how well it would be in the summer, even if it does breathe.

They make about the best wheel gun there is, but I'm not a fan of their automatics.
Magazine interchangeability has always been a subject very dear to me.

I have been wanting a Ruger revolver for a while now. My father had one of these, I wish I had it now. My mother sold it not long after he passed without my knowledge! I have always wanted one since he let me shoot his as a kid.

I don't know exactly what you guys are wanting to do with your future Rugers but I absolutely love mine to death. I have GP100 in .357 with the 6" barrel and it is real hard on hogs in the back yard. I used to have the Super Red Hawk in .44 magnum but it is just so much gun. Unless you plan on camping in Alaska I would stick with the .357 plus it can shoot cheaper .38 specials at the range to save a little $$$

My agency used to use Glock 17's 9mm w/ the hi capacity mags. We used the Glock 26 as the off duty weapon, easier to conceal, but, i have a large hand and it wasnt comfortable for me.
We now use the Glock 22 .40 cal's...the frame is slightly smaller than the 17's, but, I still qualify w/ a 99.8 avg. usually so i cant complain. We were one of the first law enforcement agencies in the nation to adopt the Glocks in the early '90's and have been pleased ever since.
I bought my issued Glock 17 and I had previously bought a former co-worker's Glcok 17....have two of them now. I will buy my current weapon from the dept, the glock 22, when we get new ones again.
I love Glocks!

My 17 was a service weapon for a local dept. for 3 years. When they bought new Glocks is when I bought it.

My PX4 Storm compact is a great shooter and easily concealed, but being a fat guy I can conceal a XD40 very easily too, just get it next to the love handle. Next I want to get a Glock 23, I've always liked that gun
