I've always been a car guy I like to see a car anyway costumized, because that's what I know is cars. I know the culture etc. I was just wanted input from chevy guys on why they do this not to offend anyone, but to learn. I agree making it your own is great I want diffrent rims etc aftermarket radio. I know understand the lifted side thanks everyone. I see how that could be great with performance I'm a city guy, so back woods etc you might need a lift. I see also they do look good lifted, but when it's to high it does not look good. To me a truck is for hauling a boat, camper, work truck, old reliable ya know. The slam look I get your culture I'm not putting it down just asking why.. Really what I dislike is donks lifted cars with 24s on them that worst look ever.. I'm here to learn not to bash thanks

a buddy of mine once has a Mazda b2200 that was bagged c notched and the whole thing.  he did it because nobody else in this area had anything like that.  to this day he still likes slammed trucks.  personally i like the old 2 wheel drive trucks slammed because they are no longer for working so why not.

My truck is lowered front and back, It's not because I wanted a lowered truck; I considered it a correction to how it should be. It just looked too high to me the wheel well was too high from the tire. It was also a suspension geometry correction. This is how the majority of my modifications are chosen. they are corrections or improvements to things that are stock. just about everthing on my truck has been modified in some way or another but to the untrained eye it could just be in good shape and stock.

I think it's personal for me. When people ask me why, I say cause its mine. What don't make sense to some, it's just what I wanted. And anybody that knows me knows its mine when they see it. "So lift em if ya got em"

My suspension set up is all stock at the mo but poss looking to drop to give it a meaner stance. It'll also help the missus get in as she's got little legs!

Sounds like you are trying to offend someone, by proceding everything with "not trying to offend...., but it aint going to happen here.  Asking why repeatedly isn't going to get you a different answer, the same reason an owner lowers and lifts one is the exact reason you like them stock?

So explain why you like them stock? and then replace every where you say stock with lowered and lifted and you will have your answer.

When you talk about a stock truck being more usable even that is incorrect.  I have a customer that has an '82 C10 and he lowered it because he hauls motorcycles and it is easier to load them when lowered.  Not a look thing, just practical for the purpose of the vehicle.

We all have our reasons why we lift or lowers these or any truck for that matter.  I had a lifted jeep just so the pumpkin wouldn't drag going into camp the lift & 33's also helped to get across the creek.  But we do what we want to make it more personal to us with these trucks.  The main thing is we are also enjoying this hobby we are in with these truck and some of us cars as well.

I was trying to learn why anyone would want to slam it or drop it really, to me a truck is a working mans vehicle. I can see the performance strategy though, lower be better on the strip for speed. Lower is better to lift things into the bed. If somebody just lowers it, because it looks cool than that's where I say ok I don't dig it, but it's not mine. I never meant to judge but learn ad I stated I'm a car guy so i'm learning. I don't like all cars stock, maybe in time I get the slam look right now I don't besides performance..

The lifted I'm 100 percent seeing that side now, performance etc it's not something I do, but I saw one with stacks and looked mean.. I understand the lifted design now for a toy or performance I think it looks good..

Why do I like 73-87 stock where do I start? My dad had a 78 c10 Cheyenne he restored it in 85 we took it to around 30 states.. My childhood was in that truck, my dads heart and soul from restoration was in it. He went stock to the rims, and paint I thought why as a kid?? These trucks catch my eye I have a few cars and trucks when I see them I'm be in awe. For some reason a ol stock chevy after all these years still on the road means a lot to me. Restoring it to what the factory did is becoming rare people love to modify there trucks..

I love the shape the headlights the grille u name it these trucks are great looking stock trucks I think there nothing better than a old chevy on the road. Makes me smile.. That being said I respect what another man does I just don't understand I asked the question to learn why so many are dropped slammed.. I'm Chicago guy seem that's only way I see them anymore.. These trucks sexy on there own why I come here I like ol chevy trucks..

Go south there lifted from mudding, here in the windy city I see a lot lowered. Not to many stock ones it varys from state to state. From what I learned reading here it's not just a look, it's also about performance etc etc.. I've been to WI few times I bet there some nice lifted ones there lots of places go mudding..
