Putting a 502 in a 1989 Crew Cab Dually

My dually engine has 130k miles, stock 454 TBI. Its getting some blowby, a little out the valve covers, and a little out the exhaust. Changed the spark plugs last week, and they were in poor shape. Lots of oil crud on them. Im sure it could be valve seals or rings, however, i been thinking about going a different route.

Rather than rebuild a 454 with cast crank, two bolt main, cast rods and pistons, is building a 502 for it. I have a buddy with a virgin gen VI GM 502 block, and another buddy with a complete used rotating assembly out of his boats 502. He upgraded to a 540. Its a GM Steel crank, dimple rods..

Thinking of putting the shortblock together, then installing a decent roller cam(Gen VI is factory roller), and maybe some 781 oval port heads(found a set cheap), dual plane intake, and a 750 Vacuum secondary carb. Emission test isnt a issue. Of course some headers and a full exhaust.

Would my accessories bolt up to the GEN VI?
Would a 224/224@.050 .480 lift roller cam work well in this application?
