I had a similar problem and it ended up being that the wires were worn almost to the point of breaking on the pick up coil.

More info please.  You said under load or if you gun it in 4th.  Is this the only time, have you tried to get it up into higher rpm in 3rd and see if does it also ?
How is your carb ?  Have you checked your secondaries to make sure they are opening properly ?  Does your carb. have the screen where the fuel line goes into it.
Did this just start, or since you put the new distributor in ?  You said your dist. is 3 months old, is your vacuum advance can in the new dist. the same size as the old one ?
Just a couple of thoughts, but like you said, I would put a new fuel filter on, and check the fuel pressure on your pump, no need to change it if it is still good.

I'd check that module. Accel is known to produce some duds.

I put and accel coil and cap on my distributor and it didn't work at all. Ill never buy and accel part again. I took it back and ordered the same parts from msd and the work great. The accel cap was actually loose and the connections were loose also.
Go ahead hit it with a hammer. Theres only one level of broke.
