Partner has a new project
« on: April 28, 2011, 06:58:32 am »
My friend that helped me with my truck build and the paint has a new project.  I think it is a 76, but we couldn't find any stickers, I didn't have internet access at the time to run the vin, and he won't have the title for another few days.  Overall it is in excellent condition, though missing the engine and tranny.  A low mileage 87 350 equipped long bed 2wd donor is already there waiting for a refresher before being transplanted.  He just finished his 66 and as you can see it turned out pretty good.  He is building a new 350 for my 84 that I hope to have in the truck before the end of June when the kids get out of school.  I need that 350 in there and ready for pulling the boat this summer.  My 305 is progressively getting weaker by the day.  Anyway here are a few pics of the new project, his 66, and his new paint booth.  Oh yea, I forgot to mention that the new project truck was given to him for free!  Some people have all the luck...

ummmm...you have a headstone in your yard...

wow i would have paid a lot of money for that truck. the paint looks decent and a straight rust free body. nice! Im thinking a 77 or older. they changed to the fuel door in either 78 or 79. it would be easier to tell if the grill and headlight trim were there.

That's the guy that stole the grill and headlight trim ;D

Looks like a solid truck to build up. Keep us updated on the progress.

In small places in eastern NC like where I'm from it isn't uncommon for people to bury their kin in small graveyards in their backyard.  Property is handed down from generation to generation so the family on that property has been there for well over 100 years.  There's only about 120 people in my entire hometown according to the last census.

I've been in the Coast Guard for 23 years so I was lucky enough to move on, but all my family is still there.
