All I can say is it should fit, welcome from California.

the only 2 things I can see that might be different is how the motor mounts attach to the frame and the bracketry for the accessories would put the alt, PS, smog pump, AC, etc in different spots. But it is a "maybe" on both as I have never seen a 83 427 in a bus.

It should work, a little creativity and some four letter words.

welcome from nc and for the motor i say go for it i have the lil bro to the bus motor the 366 sitting comfy in my 1980 trucks engine bay. ive heard lots of good things about the 366 but hey many people say bad things for the 366 that i have not seen. my truck has the power to do anything it wants. so in turn the motor that gets good reviews aught to have a huge impact on power to your truck. as for the emission stuff i dont need as i have the heavy weight and my truck dont need it. i have a 87 366 im my truck so you should have no problem with the 427 and i didnt have to change anything around but running the radiator hoses are pact in at the bottom of the radiator to the water pump. hope it turns out to be what u want it to be good luck

idk what a cng hook up is but what ive done research on is its for natural gas. that i know of it did not. ive got a edlebrock performer series 600cfm carb on it and it will haul my truck anywere. its pulled my moms 18wheeler with trailer out of a ditch as she got it stuck. that and i had the truck which weighs 6000lb alone with 4000 added to it and it will keep going at normal speeds and temps as it does empty. so at the moment im trying to talk to some people that are scrapping a whole mess of old buses from our local school bus garage and see if i can get a 427 motor out of it and build to replace the 366. not putting it down or anything but i can get more power out of the 427 than with the 366. cant wait to see what you build looks like with the motor in it

well none of the school buses here run on natural gas. it either diesel or gas so but i hope they have some and i could get it cheap basically for price of scrap if they will let me get it due to they just take the whole bus to the scrap yard right down the road from them. they have about 100-200 buses to get rid of so if they let me i could get a few
