Kids first time at the drag races

Took my daughter to the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway This weekend. We went on Friday and Saturday. We didnt goto the actual race on sunday but we got to see all the qualifying beforehand. We got tickets Friday from Ronnie Davis, whose nephew is my buddy and then got tickets on saturday from Kurt Johnson since another friend of mine works at the chiropractic office that was sponsoring him.
My daughter wants to go back now.
The first top fuel that went by scared the crap out of her, but after that she was all about it!
So she got to see the races and got an Ashley Force Hood T-shirt. Now shes all about messing with cars all of a sudden, I'm liking it! Now she wants me to hurry up and get a car. I been looking for a while to find me a 54 chevy 210 to just make a cruiser out of. now she wants me to get it now! If I get that I'll be putting the 327 in the basement in it with a nice rumpity rump cam for fun.
Things are looking up! I need to find me a little camper so we can start going to more races, my kid and my buddy wanna start going more and I'd just rather have a camper for that stuff. Sweet!

That's cool to be able to get your children interested in some things you care about, enjoy it as when they start to get older they tend to go off on their own interest's.

Thats awesome that she enjoyed the races! Sounds like yall had a great time. Bake you are absolutely right! I have a daughter that turns 16 in a few months and the fishing trips, car shows and drags races are almost a thing of the past
She now has her own intrest. So Kenny enjoy it while you can and cherish every moment with her!!

My 7 year old daughter loves the race track. And she really loves it when daddy punches the throttle and makes the tires smoke on mommys car. Shes really interested in the junior dragsters... we'll see, but she also wants to be a quad racing balerina.

I'll take what I can get now and later! I hope she likes something I do. I just want something to do with her that's not typical girly stuff I'd rather not do. So far I've made a pretty respectable tom-boy out of her.
Plus she knows if she wants a cool vehicle, we have to build it. If I have to buy it, it'll be economical, on my wallet and her gas bill.
On the humorous side, Her momma had never been and neither had her 5 year old cousin. I told em how loud it was gonna be and they didnt believe me. their faces were priceless after the first pair of top fuel cars got a good clean full throttle run together. She had a funnel cake covered with powdered sugar, and when the cars went buy they blew the sugar all over the next 4 people down track from her and blew the plate off her lap. We were in the front row.

Thats the same thing Im going to fo with my daughter. At 14 we can start building a car or truck the way she wants is, pending daddys wallet can handle it. If I pick the car, it will be the cheapest, most reliable thing I can find. Cosmetics dont make a car reliable. She can have one of the ex cabs AFTER high school if she wants one but Im not sending one of them up to her school so the other kids can run over it. I still have 7 years tho.

My daughters gonna be 13 in november so I don't have too long to go. Gotta start hunting up a stepside C10. She likes the round eye but goes back and forth between front ends.
