Gas Tank Removal
« on: May 16, 2011, 02:36:10 pm »
I recenty purchased bed bar for my 76 K10. While mounting it, I discovered I will need to drop one of the saddle tanks to get to the bolts. My question is how hard of a job is it to remove them??? Is it just remove the 8 bolts and filler neck to drop it???

disconnect the filler neck, remove the 8 bolts ( make sure there is a jack under the gas tank, it is a little heavy.)   lower the gas tank a little bit, then reach on top to the sending unit and disconnect the fuel lines from it, then the tank wil lower the rest of the way down.   reverse procedure when installing.
