grill guard
« on: May 24, 2011, 09:32:09 pm »
does anyone still make grill guards with the headlight surrounds for these trucks?  I asked all the truck places around me and nobody can get them.

I remember seeing someone who took grill guard/bumper for a newer ford and modified to it to fit our style of Chevy.

Check out the bumper / grill guard on this Suburban.  Is this what you have in mind?

i was thinking more of the chrome ones that had the 2 tubes with the flat ends that are in the center of the grill with the ends that cover the headlights.  Kinda like this one on my buddys truck

Man, I just took one to the scrap yard that is just as you described. Gonna be building me a custom front end replacement soon myself.
There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

there are only 4 of these trucks in the local junkyard along with 2 burbans and about 4 k5s and there isnt much left on them thats usable anymore.  and none of them have anything aftermarket on them now the fords of the same generation there is still a lot of them in there with a lot of aftermarket stuff on them yet.
