well i had to change my brakes cause the caliper i bought new was locked up. lucky the brake pads and caliper were under lifetime warranty. well to get down to it i was getting the caliper off of the passnger side of my 1 ton dually in the front and i got it off fine i looked and found a crack in the rotor. can anyone tell me of what to do to get the rotor off as its a whole piece. and how the inner barrings and spindle nuts go or should i take it to a good mechanic or friend that has built his own chevy drag truck from the ground up.
the whole rotor assembly
the crack

Get a factory or good aftermarket manual, then you can do it all yourself. Its not that hard. You'll save money by not paying labor charges.
Im not familiar with how the rotor mounts to the hub on a 1 ton, but you need a $15 axle nut socket from the parts store to remove the two axle nuts and washer.

Should be like any other 2 wheel drive front rotor... Take the dust cap off, remove the cotter pin and back the nut off the spindle.

ok i think the cotter pin would be hard to do on my truck as the dust cap is going to be fun all on its own. on the inside of the hub the dust cap is just able to fit in the whole. which it is then sunk in about 2-3 inch

Take an old off brand screw driver and bend the end to 90 degrees. It will take some trial and error to get it to the right size, wedge it against the rotor and the dust cap will come off. It has about 30 years ago when I converted a 72 C-30 from SRW to a dually with the proper rotors up front for the rims to match. My buddy still has the truck as it is currently an old school tow truck. Still has under 50K on it original mileage. It was a retired mill truck when I converted it at 14K original miles 30 or so years ago.
