what wheel sizes will fit my 86 C10?
« on: August 26, 2001, 03:54:00 PM »
Hi, I have a 1986 C10. It has the stock steel 15" 15x6 5 lug wheels on it now. I want to find a used set of aluminum alloys for the truck. I am going to stay with the 15" 5 lug but need to know if I am stuck finding 15x6 or are there any other options? Thanks in advance, Steve

Steve, your truck will comfortably take a 15x8 with a 275-60 without any special rim offsets or anything to keep it under the fenders. You can go with a 15x10 but just about any wheel readily available will stick out from the sides with a decent tire. Just my "personal" opinion gives a two thumbs up to a set of 15x8's, a set of 275's and a decent drop front and rear. Keep it simple and clean.... like my "fishin' truck..... good luck, Bill

The 86 C-10 SWB I just bought has 295/50R15 tires on either 15-8 or 15-10 wheels.

I got 15x10 on my 70 and they dont stick out at all, When I ordered them they asked what truck I had, and they made them line up with fenders perfect!
I got smoothies from prime rims for less than $100 a rim!
