Tire Pressure Question
« on: July 07, 2002, 08:22:00 am »
Do you inflate your tires to the PSI on the door/Owners manual or to what it says on the tire? I have stock size tires on my blazer (31 10.50 15) and they say max load at 50 psi is 2250 or something. The door jamb says to inflate the tires to 35 PSI but the tires look kind of low at 35. The front tires are also cupping on the outer edge which I assume is a bad alignment. Could it be the wrong tire pressure?

I think that you will have the best results using what the tire manufacturer puts on the side of the tire.  Make note of whether the pressure is given hot (having just been driven) or cold.  Most ratings are given cold.  Pressure tends to rise about 5 psi when hot.
