puting a 1994stepside bed on a 1984 chevy 4 weel drive

I have just started this . And am geting the parts in one placeIhave the bed the inside mount 25 gal. gas tank. Would like to hear from anyone thats done this .Thanks mclavey

What do you mean inside mount tank? Fuel tank? There isn't enough room for a tank between the frame, and drive shaft. Whats wrong with the original tank? Just replace it if yours is shot from rust etc.

If you are talking about a Suburban/Blazer gas tank between the frame rails at the back, I have seen that done. I think you have to move that rear brace. Now as for putting that bed on one of these trucks, well I dont' care for the idea, but I haven't seen one done. I've seen them on a 55-57 didn't like that, seen them several times on 67-72s didn't like that either. The 77-87 stepside bed looks good, what's wrong with it? But If you want to be different go for it. Good luck.

The tank Igot is the strock one out of a 1994 it mount to the inside of frame rail. I must like the way it looks as I am doing it. Have had the truck years The bed was junk when I got it,put a wood bed on it but time to chane . Will look at rear gas tanks this weekend Thanks mclavey

There is a member on here that has one on their trucks.  I don't think you will be able to use the tank though,  Frame widths are different.
