Not really my bag of bones. If I do all that prep work that's going to make a paint job look real good, I wouldn't waste it on something that looks like it could have been Krylon.

All I can say is that he has won best engine multiple times at shows with krylon under the hood.

i know many people that have painted there engine bays in similar ways and i have nothing negative to say. as long as prep work is done well, it seems ok. only bad ive seen is when guy didnt clean surface worth a crap and it flaked. our buddies one truck is going on 3 show seasons with same painting,and a local guys old ford is in his second season.  im not arguing by any means. just throwing out my experience.

Well I have done my engine bay with no bad results. I just wouldn't waste all the effort that goes into prepping a whole truck body properly. Seems like a lot of time and effort just to have a paint job thats.. well... flat.

Well I just sprayed my truck with the hot rod flatz hot rod black and I am very pleased with it. I have a ton of hours in the body work and prep and I will say that my truck looks good. It looks better now with the flat paint than it did new with the shiny black. I will say I don't know if I will ever have another old car or truck thats not flat!! As for the paint under the hood he has won at several shows with 500 to 600 cars there. It has also been painted for three years now and looks as good today as it did when he sprayed it. It all in the prep work.

I'm not a bodyman, so I fear the task of prepping my truck. But uh, does this paint end up being cheaper or something? I mean than other "flat" paints. Or is it that it somehow looks better?

Somehow, after looking at this stuff long enough, its starting to grow on me. Dang it. What do you think of this vanilla truck? Kinda cool. Wonder how it would look on one of these old trucks? I also like the blue car cause of the pearl. I could see my truck painted that way. I wouldn't mind it cause of the pearl. Only trouble is, how can you tell if this is going to look good on one of these old trucks? Guess I'll start photochopping again.
