i for one think thats why the world is so over populated anyway lol people saying whats safe and whats not. in de the helmet law state that a rider has to have one in possession but doesnt have to wearing it. you know so if he feels a accident coming he can grab it real fast and strap it on

The poor guy on the bike is one of those stories that makes you want to laugh and sad at the same time. Talk about snake bit. As far as the seat belt thing goes, I just want to say this. Nearly EVERY weekend someone in this area is killed (usually in a one vehicle accident) because they were ejected from the vehicle they were driving after they left the roadway. The really sad part is that it keeps happening over and over.

Just for the record, I don't wear seat belts, or helments!
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

OK, that's your choice Blazin. Just don't make us want to laugh and be sad at the same time like that other guy did. I really don't worry too much what anyone outside my imediate family does. I know I have people depending on me and I try to take precautions so I will be there for them. The only thing about all of this helmet / seat belt stuff that gets me is the people who don't restrain the kids properly while in an auto. That really fires me up. A kid doesn't have enough knowledge to know when something is dangerous.

shes now 39 weeks  > firstly, Congrats

Seatbelts in the UK are compulsary, even in the 44t lorries. If memory serves correctly, any vehicle (less than 3.5t) made after 1976, it was compulsary for the manufacturors to fit seatbelts. Around 1982 a law was passed you had to wear them.
In appx 2002 it was law for all vehicles to be made with seatbelts and compulsary to wear them.

IMO it's just another EU cash cow and easy pickings for the police/Traffic officers. I think it's about $120 fine!

And you wonder why I would rather be Stateside than here!!

You guys made me remember something funny and kind of retarded. When I was a teenager back in the 70's in South Alabama, I had a buddy named Platt. Platt and I were nuts and EVERY vehicle we got to drive, we were going to find out how fast it would go flat out. I remember flying down an unfinished section of I-65 in his Dad's 72 Chevy truck and when we got it up to 100 mph we decided to put on our seat belts. How dumb!
