Hi guys, wasn't sure where to post this so please move if ness.

Wondered if there's any supplier out there that sells a pack of all the connections, crimps, terminals etc to make a new loom. I want to replace the front loom and re-route it slightly hence making it longer. It'll also eliminate 30yrs of PO's bodges!

I've checked out the schematics (brill by the way) and noted all the colour codes etc but am I being a daft Brit? I can't see where it says what gauge wire each one is > can anyone slap me round the face and say stop being silly!!

I also need the terminal block that bolts through the bulkhead/firewall.

Any ideas??

I'd just go with a painless harness in general. They're spendy but worth it, and they come long so you can route it anyway you may want and have extra to trim off. Plus it has all the terminals that you'll need.

cheers guys, I'm looking to re-route along the chassis rather than the inner fender hence needing to "stretch" the loom.

Thought it might have been easier to make one  than pay Painless a shed load of money. I'm trying to keep costs down, I'm in too far already!

I tucked my headlight harness inside of the LH fender and routed it inside of the header panel- no cutting was needed. It would be a little nicer through the frame rail, but it is hidden for the most part and the price can't be beat. On another note I also turned my battery around and ran the the batt cables through the header panel and down through the frame as well.

Where did you connect your ground cable?

My battery has been relocated under the passenger side, hoping to make the engine bay "cleaner". Cheers for the tip Grover I'll try and find them on the www!

Where did you connect your ground cable?
On the frame somewhere, I don't remember exactly where maybe a bumper bracket or something, but it also is routed through the header panel.

Right, I've looked at the original wiring loom and it is a mess. I thought about just extending the original but it has had its day and for safety's sake I'll make a new one.

Now I'm far from thick but can't seem to get my head round what size wire is/should be used. At the moment there is all sorts, literally and a tad confusing. I'm confident I can run wire, solder/crimp and heat shrink and pop it all nicely into corrigated conduit. Can anyone list > indicators need "X" amp wire etc? Or do I go for say, 16.5amp for the lot?

*update* Sorry > finally found a site for easy English! 16.5amp for the lot except Headlamps & windscreen motor (25amp) and H/duty alternator (70 amp) Please correct if this is incorrect!

Lastly for the moment, how do the spade terminals come out of the block that bolts to the firewall or do they just push out and is there anywhere I can purchase a new/fresh block so I can keep the old one for reference?

16.5 amp?  Do you guys buy wire differently than we do here?  Sizes are something like 12, 14, and 16 gage.  12v at a particular amp current draw would be used to determine the gage needed.

Never dealt with anything smaller than 22 gage (22 is very small).  80 would be the size of a human hair if it exists.

Any idea how to get the terminals out the block that joins the other through the firewall or are they moulded in?
