Carpet Q's for a crew!
« on: July 10, 2011, 04:27:47 pm »

Hi guys, I've started getting the interior back together after 3 years, the jigsaw has started. The truck didn't have a carpet just a thick rubber mat that was bodged in.

I had a new carpet shipped over and need a couple of Q's answered.

I've done the usual and left it in the warm to settle and de-crease etc.

1st question, the carpet for the crew cab comes in two bits. Does the front overlap the rear or the rear overlap the front or does it matter?

2nd Question, I'll have to trim the carpet at the sides, do they run to the bottom of the channel before the lip where the door rubber sits or where do they normally stop. I have new "plates" that secure the carpet but they don't seem to line up and finally:

3rd question, how much overlap where the carpets meet?

Maybe a photo showing how it should look like would be good  ;)

Any help as always guys is much appreciated

Cheers

Andy

Sorry, I dont have a crew.

To answer one of your questions, I think the front overlaps the rear.

front overlaps the rear but it doesn't it matter.

2nd Question, I'll have to trim the carpet at the sides, do they run to the bottom of the channel before the lip where the door rubber sits or where do they normally stop. I have new "plates" that secure the carpet but they don't seem to line up and finally:
I trim them long to the edge of where the weatherstripping goes.

3rd question, how much overlap where the carpets meet?
how ever much you have for overlap.  I never trim the front/rear pieces.

I thought I took some pics when I installed the carpet on my crew but can find them.

Hi bud,

Due to me being in the UK I have to buy from companies that will ship over here and unfortunately Chris doesn't ship overseas.

Please don't think I'm being rude not disclosing the company name but I'm sure it's something Chris can sort for you at a competative rate.

all the best

Think I may have missed a pun here. "Sorry I don't have a clue"!! said with a Chinese accent ;D

Bud, we're over flowing over here with all sorts, it's difficult to find a Brit accent these days!
