Leaf Spring Bushings?

I have a lifted blazer, I broke the bolt  that holds up the leaf spring its the one that goes through the frame and im having trouble getting that sucker out. Its soaking in PB i took an air hammer to it no luck, any advice on replacing the whole bushing?

I assume you have the pressure off the spring, aka letting the axle droop a little?

like beastie said, make sure the spring isnt supporting the axles weight to get the bolt out. And to replace the whole bushing, burn the rubber out and replace the bushing with the sleve inside and put a new bolt in.

you can also take a slightly smaller diameter bolt and hammer it through the other way to push the old one out.

I use a ball joint press to push that type of stuff out. Most times everything but the outer steel shell comes out. I use an air chisel to cut that, and drive it out. The outer shell can be cut with a torch too.

yeah i just jacked the frame up the axle just a little bit driled around the bushing and got it out. just came in and checked the site thanks guys!!! About to throw it all back together and take her for a spin. Only thing im worried about is on the leaf spring bushing on front rear bottom the bushing is huge like almost 1/2 inch about to cut that down a bit so the hangers arent on an angle.
