As for plexiglass, it was used on bombers (B-17, B-24, B-25) and Fighter planes (P-51 canopy, etc...) in WWII(nose glass and gun turrets) which were designed in the 30's and early 40's

That is cool. I have a steel body 39 Pontiac covertable. It has a long way to go but Im gradually gather parts for it.  Some day..
