The little wiper stop grounding switch that operates off of a cam on the main gear in the wiper motor is probably shot. I couldn't see an easy way to fix this switch and ended-up buying a replacement motor. In my '77 the cam lobe on the plastic gear wore a hole in the metal make-break contact switch.
