Bagged 84 crew cab dually Project
« on: August 24, 2011, 08:17:26 am »
Here is my new project, it is a bagged crew cab dually that is in the process in geting all new interior and a LS 6.0Lt with a 4l80e to power it and 19.5" or maybe 22.5" Alcoa wheels. Right now this truck has a 350 with a TH400 trans and NO interior or windows, I have found a 91 doner suburban with perfect interior, all the window and a straight body. I will also be pulling the saddle tanks off and putting the burb tank in the rear of the truck, I have already got a 91 burb front clip on it. The very last picture is what inspired me to get this truck and you can still pull trailers with them, I have seen a bagged dually with a goose neck pulling a 3 car hauller loaded down with cars going to a show "looked so clean".

Does anyone know if the headliner will fit because it looks long enough and it looks brand new with zero flaws.

Oh yea I am also going to be doing the one piece glass for the front doors, does anyone know  if they make a one piece back door glass kit or if another vehicle with the same rear glass or would I prob have to make a custom kit myself and have glass cut for it.

That is a big looking truck, maybe because it is so low.  Are you setting it up for show or just to have fun in ?

The burb headliner won't work on a Crew.
There currently isn't a rear kit for the burbs yet, but if OPP has the interest required, they will make them.  They have the kit mocked up.  No other vehicle has the same rear glass curvature of a 73-87(91) if it was that easy, I would have already done it years ago.  You can't get curved tempered glass "cut".  it has to be molded to size.

Thanks guys, I do not know anything about the truck history wise nor do I know anything about it as it sits now. I found this truck online and contacted the guy that owned it and traded my 2008 Yamaha YFZ450 for it, I was kind of hesatant towards getting it because the guy said the tran was going out and it and it did not have any windows or interior in it. I went and looked at it and it really did not look bad body wise so I said F it ill take it im good at fabricating stuff so we traded and he gave me $250 cash with the truck LOL. I drove about three block down the road to my friends trans shop and he checked it all out and said it has the TH400 in it and everything trans wise was hooked up right but the reason it was not shifting right was because it had a couple of vacuum leaks. I went out Saturday and stripped a 91 burb that has perfect light grey interior in it and pulled all the interior out of it and pulled the doors and seals off and pulled the complete wiring harness fuse box and all nothing is cut, going back out this Saturday to get the gas tank and the front seat brackets and whatever else I can use.

my last project was a 1990 single cab 1500 that I cut the frame off from the cab back and fabricated a 2006 GTO IRS rear end in it, that truck was fun.

Nope im not that guy.... Those window kits are close to the same price every where that I have looked. What is all included in the window kits? I am also going to be getting in contact with a custom shop in my area that does custom glass and going to see if they can cut me some glass to do one piece windows for the back doors.
