4wd Transmission Hump

I am swapping cabs on my K10 and the one I have is a C10 with a low hump... neither cabs are bolt in, so I am trying to find a hump for the c10 cab. Is there anywhere that sells the bolt in humps? I was thinking if I can find a high hump I can just buy that, cut out the hump on the c10 cab and bolt in the new hump...... I've been looking and haven't really found anything.

Anyone have any idea?

Cut yours out and use butyl tape, and large self tapping screws to attach it to the new floor. Cut it large, and trim it a little at a time to get a nice fit. Cut the C10 cab right on the indentation around the hump.

     Do you have any local junk yards, or maybe try c.l. for a truck that is being parted out.

I did almost the same thing on my truck. C10 cab on K20 frame. i had a donor 4wd cab and cut out the floor about 2" inches around the trans tunnel, placed it in the c10 cab traced it out and cut the floor and spot welded it in. then seam sealed around it top and bottom and coated underside with undercoating. not too bad of a swap.

i have heard of people clearing 4wd running gear with a 2wd cab and body lift but thats not really the route i wanted to go

If you make it bolt in then later on down the road if you need to you can remove it for easy access to the trans for a repairs etc.

Trucks with 4 speeds have a high hump that bolts in, because its a top loader. so if you go to a junk yard you can grab the hump off one and just bolt it in your cab.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to try to find one at the junk yard so it will look better than just cutting, but if I can't find one I'll just cut my old one out.

Trucks with 4 speeds have a high hump that bolts in, because its a top loader. so if you go to a junk yard you can grab the hump off one and just bolt it in your cab.

Neither cab is currently bolt in, so he would have to add the welded nuts and shape the tunnel to match.

Beastie, at lease the hump will look better on there since its already bolt on. Yeah he'll have to add the nuts, but its better than cut/welding and having it look haggard.

I have cut them out and screwed them in a dozen times or more. They look perfectly fine. Only way it will look haggard is if its hacked in! You don't need nuts. Use a heavy diameter one of these.

i've been to both LKQs in my area and found only one truck that had the bolt in hump, but someone had already grabbed that and the transmission.

Any idea how much I can get for my old cab at the scrap yard? Is it worth doing?

Is what worth doing? Junking it? If you have a way to haul it its better to get a few bucks for it than take it to the dump or transfer station.
