How many is enough?

How may trucks should one guy own at one time? I ask because I have three now and am contemplating getting another.  I can make legit arguments for getting it and for not getting it. I also can justify keeping the ones I have now.  Am I just crazy or what?

My personal experience is I can have too many. What then happens is I get spread too thin on time and money to work on one. But if you're just picking up trucks for spare parts then you can't have too many...

There is probably a formula for this that is something like
sq ft of free space - # of toys +/- wife + 2X the size of man berries = # of sq bodies you should own.

 ....it really is a personal preference.  i think theres no such thing as having to many. i think theres no such thing as being to low,  being to custom,  ect, ect.  its whatever you can afford and  juggle.

I have 4, all run.  One of them is in a project stage.  Looking to pick up 1 more when the time is right.

i never have had a car/truck payment, ever.  Why?  Because the price of one new vehicle, you can buy 7 or 8 old chevy pickups/suburbans.
When I was a young lad, i kept buying old mustangs.  By the time I was 20 or so, I had five 65-68 mustangs, two of which were restored and won trophies at car shows.
Now i still have all my mustangs, including a '65 Convertible GT stang and a 79 chevy big 10 383 stroker pickup and a '91 GMC V2500 4x4  suburban.  Can't part with any of them.  When my wife starts on me, I remind her that her brand new Escape costs more than all my toys put together.    And, my insurance is soooo much cheaper. Liability only. $400 a year for all. Oh, and taxes are about $10 per vehicle each year.

haha  i hear ya man.   same convo i have with my woman.  i remind her my old trucks are just that....old trucks.   now what i put into them is diff story lol but anyway,   yup. i love trucks and lots of them.

That was what I thought I would hear. Never too many!! I have them all plated and insured so no parts trucks for me. I do have a cargo van that is a temp garage that is filled with lawn equipment and such that doesn't move too much.

So far i got 1 truck well technicially 2 if you count my 2001 dodge ram sport.The cougar,and i am in the market after im married next year to either go for the 72 nova, a 94-5 GT stang convertible or a 84-96 c5 corvette. Either way the last 3 i will own within 5 years i just figure i will need to treat myself after tying the knot.But i got a 40x40 shop i think will have a little tightness in room once all these toys are in there..

I got cut short with the last post was at the haircut place and it was my turn.   I don't have a garage right now and that makes me think of how many vehicles can go at my house.  The old one needed just a strong push and it fell down. I am in the process of getting a 2.5 car but can't see putting a lot of money into it right now with work slowing down sooner than expected. I have taken over my girlfriends garage I just have to put autostart on her envoy before winter or get up and start her truck. I also know I can sell any of my trucks because they were all great deals. I got 4k total in the 78 Stepside 87 longbed and 05 2500hd short bed.  So I guess maybe sell the one I like the least and still stay at 3 trucks if I get this one. It needs an engine so it will be a fall fix than maybe a forsale sign in it. So it will need to be mobile by December. My goal right now is to redo the 78 over the winter when I am laidoff. If I can sell a truck or two to pay the bill for the 78 I will like it even more. Sorry to ramble on about this.

I 'm at three  but I've been working all summer on my garage, before it falls down. At this point tools and a shop are a priority over more trucks.

over the last 10 years or so i have managed to collect all the cars i wanted when i was younger but had no money. non of them are beauties but rather solid running good restoration projects.

my 87 is just something i happened to buy because it was available, the price was right and i needed a truck to haul stuff around for house related projects. the truck has grown on me and for a east coast truck it is really solid with no serious rust issues. my objective is to fix this up to use as reliable practical second vehicle.

not to drift away from the question, although there are a lot of other vehicles that appeal to me i have to stop here as i find the two biggest issues for me are TIME AND STORAGE/WORK SPACE. it already bothers me that i do not have the time to visit/run/tinker with all the vehicles i have. i just hope i do not accidentally happen to come across some original owner classic barn find as i don't need the temptation. when the enjoyment is outweighed by storage and time issues it's time to stop in my opinion.
