MICE in my cab... ARGH!

Hey Y'all,
I have my donor truck sitting just outside of my garage in a "Garage in a box" tent like shelter. It has been sitting there for two months and yesterday I had four mice scatter as I went to work on it. I have always had problems with mice building nests in the bottom vents and air duct system.

I've set traps and stuff but are there tried and true methods to deter them form wanting to live in my truck when it sits. I ask because as soon as donor truck leaves, this will be the home for the newer '85 Silverado.

I've heard of mothballs and dry sheets. Anyone tried this... did it work?

Steel wool has worked for me, and decon for when they get hungry.  I find they really like chocolate, I bait mouse traps using hershey kisses cut in half.  We get them in the winter time in the house, guess it is some of the luxuries living in the country with farm fields all around...

Oh I love mice in vehicles.....

My 1970 was pretty good for getting mice in it.  Tried moth balls, all that did was stink up my truck.  Tried mouse poison, they ate it and somehow kept coming back.  Tried putting dryer sheets and soap and everything that smelled strong, they still came back and just chewed up all the stuff I left for them.

The biggest help in keeping them out was leaving the door open on the shed that the truck was parked in, so the cats could get in.  Also, not leaving any grain or other food in the same building as your parking vehicles.

So far I've killed 11 mice and I'm positive there are more to come. I have 9 traps set on the floor boards and one sticky mat. I want to pull this truck into the garage and start pulling the motor but I want the mice gone before I do that. I guess the trick is keep on killing them.
