84 c10 Neutral Saftey Switch.

I need to add a Neutral Saftey switch to my truck for state inspection.  Where is this located and is it just something I plug in ??  Where do I plug it in at ?  Sorry for the stupidity, but I am new to this stuff...

what tranny ?

if is auto trans then its on top sid eof steering column down getting close to firewlal inside cab

if is manual trans then its mounted on clutch pedal arm up under dash big white plastic switch assembly thing

look for yellow and purple wires bigger than rest of wires under there, cant miss them

Thanks for the info.  Not sure what tranny.   I did find it on the steering column.  I haven't attempted the replace it yet.  I'll let you know how it goes !!

Your not saying that you don't know what type of tranny is in your truck, auto/manual?
