Big block fail!
« on: October 01, 2011, 09:21:48 am »
So I am inspecting one of the dump trucks from a the next town over Thursday. The guy driving in starts talking about all the trucks he has been junking, Chevys, Dodges, and Fords. Says he junked about ten Chevys, 15 or so Fords, and several Dodges. One of the Dodges was low miles slant six. Guy I work with runs a 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive with a slant six but its getting tired. So we start asking him what else hes got. He says he has one Dodge left 3/4 ton 4x4, whats it got for motor? He says 400 big block, he would like to get $400, that peaks Gary's intrest. Then he says he has a couple Chevys. Has an 84 1 ton cab, and chassis with a 454, automatic, 4x4. He would like $400 for that too.
So we run up to his house yesterday on lunch. Open the hood on the Chevy, its a small block  :'(! Go to the Dodge, its a 318  :(!
Then I start walking around his property. He has 14 Chevys 73 / 87 some pretty rough, but I was still in heaven! 7, 1 tons. 5 of them 4x4s. They have been there for years, and I never knew about them!

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Give me a long enough lever and a place to stand, and I shall move the earth or break this bolt...Whatever, just hold my beer!

I wonder how many of us would have been drooling and dreaming all at the same time.
