Parking lights
« on: October 20, 2011, 05:59:10 am »
My front parking/driving lights wont come on. They worked fine for ever, but then.i noticed they were off. I checked the bulbs and theyre good. I checked my fuaes and all of them are good. Does anyone know which fuse is for the front lights? My tail lights, license plate lights, side markers all work. I modified my wiring a few months back. In the socket there is 2 powers and one.ground. One power for the small filament when the parking lights are on, and one power for the big filament, that flickers for the turn signal/hazard. I put the parking light wire to the big filament so its always on and bright, and the flasher wire to a seperate pair of bulbs inside my headlight housings so they flash with the signals. ill post a picture below so you know what I mean. I installed the orange bulb so I would have a legal color for my flashers. Any ideas where to look to get my parking lights working again?

The first thing I would do (and to avoid 1000 different advice comments) is to check at the bulb for power, either with a test light or meter.  Then work back to where you loose power, I as just guessing here, but I bet you find the problem at where you messed around with the wiring.
Not that you did anything wrong, but you will probably find a wire came off or loose, just where I would tell you to start (and I would start is I was to look at your truck.)
#1: The easiest and most obvious solution to any problem is 99% of the time correct.
#2: There is no such thing as impossible, it just takes longer.
