Difference in years please.

     Can anybody tell me the difference in the 90 -98 EFI chevy engines from the 99 - up chevy's.  I am trying to decide if I want to put a EFI engine and 5 speed in my 74 rebuild I am doing.   Thanks, I am still researching, just want some peoples opinions that I trust.                Tom

99+ Went the LSX series engines, no distributor, individual coil packs, etc.

These engines (in my opinion) the greatest thing since the 265 SBC came out in the 50's.  They have great power potential and offer up modern reliability... I'm sure you've seen the posts on the forum about the swaps.

Here is a 5.3 on Sac craigslist for $500, minus the exhaust manifolds.

The next motor for one of my trucks is going to be an LSX, probably my 74 then the 73 will get the 350 Goodwrench thats in my 74 now.

     Thanks slammed, I am going to buy a wrecked truck and swap more than likely.  This will be the first engine swap I have done, so I want the whole thing, I know I will have to get lines, pump, etc.  just makes me not worried so much if I have the whole truck.

There is a guy on the 67-72 forum that used a complete 01 frame for his 72 CC build. Really cool setup, he's about a year and a half into the project now.

I would skip anything prior to 1999.  There wer several differences during those years.
