New Guy from Oklahoma
« on: November 30, 2011, 09:36:19 pm »
Hello.

I have a 1987 GMC R1500 Sierra Classic, short wide bed. One good truck. 387,000 on it. Transmission rebuilt in 2008. I just had to replace a leaking head gasket.

I look forward to learning more about these vehicles.

I was surprised recently with how good the internals looked. I had to replace the head gasket (Started leaking on the passenger side).  I replaced those, went ahead and did the oil pan gasket and new timing chain while I was at it.  I was a little worried I might need a new long block. I guess I'll invest that money into a paint job now ;)
