New Project 1978 Silverado
« on: December 21, 2011, 01:11:34 am »
Here is my new project, 78 Silverado, 2WD LWB. It was my grandfather's truck, and I am having it repainted at the moment. That blue color is not original, it was green. But because he had it painted this blue I am having it painted the same color again. But, I need some suggestions about the interior colors. It all needs to be replaced so, it can all be changed.
Right now the interior is the green color from before, and it clashes. But the 33 year old seat is in excellent condition so I would like to keep that. I was thinking tan for the dash, door panels, etc.

My 1st choice would be blue. 2nd would be grey.

Good luck with your truck!  :)

Welcome to the site, grey is my choice, but then again I like grey interiors.

Nice truck, it looks like your grandfather took good care of it. Excellent choice keeping it the color that your grandfather chose too. How long ago was it repainted? It looks like it was a quality job.
I would go with a light blue interior and get a replacement cover for the original seat as well.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think it was painted in 1993. Another cool story about it was that it was stolen, and my grandparents were actually the ones that found it in a barn down the street from their house! But it was also stripped at the time so they had to do a lot of rebuilding then. But it has been a work truck for them ever since it was bought so it was used a lot. I'll keep you all updated as soon as I get it back from paint and body work, etc.

Also, does anyone have a picture of one similar to this blue with the blue or grey interior. I think those are quickly the two favorite options.

Nice truck. I would go with a light blue or grey in the interior.  Heres a pic of the light blue seat in my truck.

Just got my truck back, new paint and exterior accessories! Now it's time for me to get back to work on the interior!
