Yes poor truck is butchered up really bad. It's ok though I have around $900 in it so far. So I expected to have alot of work to do. I have four daughters so it's a great excuse to get out of the house and enjoy myself.

I also am wondering. There is a male and female prong on the choke the light blue goes on the male. What goes on the other?

I'll check on the rear main seal this weekend. I found that my electric choke on edelbrock isn't hooked up at all. It was zip tied open. Also doesnt have an oil pressure switch at all. The hole in the block by the distributor has a plug in it. I found the one prong and two prong harness that plug into them. Also the blue wire had been cut between the oil pres. switch and the choke. The plug for the choke had been piggy backed into a red wire from the distributor but still wasn't plugged into anything.

At this point I would almost want to replace the whole wiring harness with another one, just to miss all the headaches that are going to be in the future with the wiring. ( If you have found these, you know there has to be more ).

the choke light i wouldnt worry about it. but i would run a separate wire from the fuse box a accessory location on the box then run that to the choke. it will work like this when the engine is cold the choke will be closed then the coil in the electric choke warms up and will open.

As far as after market wiring harnesses go there are other options besides Painless. A buddy of mine used Painless for one of his cars. He used Ron Francis Wiring for his next car. He said the quality of the Ron Francis was far superior to the Painless, and the price was better.
