2 piece drivetrain

Hi All,

Ca anyone tell me what the meaning is for the 2 piece drivetrain instead of just one piece.

Some of our trucks use a 2 piece drive shaft, due to distance from tranny to the rear axle (vibration), or to keep the correct angle at the rear end. One shaft will come from the tranny to a carrier bearing, bolted to the frame under the bed and a second shaft will go from the carrier bearing to the yoke at the rear axle. I know i've done a lame job of this I hope some one else will do a better job of explaining this.

thats actually a good explaination. i found them more commonly on the 3/4 and 1 ton 2-wheel drive trucks with a 8ft bed anything longer
