I also will add that I am not a fan of the like button. Maybe if it were in a different location and didn't clutter up the posts like it does it wouldn't be so bad. I also use the home button often and pass over the share button opening it up.
I always thought that when people said we need a like button it was jokingly. I don't think that I will ever use it myself but some might.

Thank you for all you do with the site though Capt! It doesn't matter what the layout looks like to me, the quality of this forum will always trump the layout.

Well I saw this post and was not sure if I should comment. ( this is really going to show my inability to operate a computer correctly ;D ).
I have never used facebook, twitter, and the like.  I have heard about them but have no interest what so ever in finding out how to use them.
I have just ignored everything else on the forum and to me it has not become too much of a hassel yet.  But with that said, if there was a way to turn all of it off for those who do not want them, I would be for it.  That might be too much of a pain though for the web master.
As thirsty said, I am happy to be able to be on here and am gratefull for all the hard work put into making this site as good as it is, it has helped me more than anything else and is a source for answer's to almost any question.

I disabled the static one on the posts, there should only be one now if you mouse hover over the post with Google Plus, Facebook and Twitter.

The hovering one is the issue. It keeps opening and closing.

If the mouse is over the post text it is going to drop down, if the mouse isn't directly over the post text, it won't do this.  This is a forum feature allowing users to link back to their social media, so there is no way to turn it off for individual users.

Me too.  This new feature is kinda gimmicky, not real productive, and very annoying....
Everything else about the site is sweet!

capt i have facebook and tell you the truth i dont like this. maybe if you disabled the hover one and give back the static one? if im on a computer where social networks aren't allowed then i get "Access Denied (content_filter_denied)"

I will play around with the options and different ones, but the social networking interaction isn't going to go away.

Maybe add a dislike button next to the like button?
