Help with lift???

Hey yall, by the way this is my first time on one of these sites....I have a (87 custom deluxe, 3/4 ton 4x4, regular cab, lwb, 4speed granny),  that I wanna lift 6 inches, and I was wantin some suggestions on what brand I should get? Also, do I hafta have the sway bar and t case drop brackets....Ive heard yes and no, but was wantin advice on it...Id preciate any help???

Yes on the sway bar drop brackets.

T-case drop optional on 6" lift.

     Welcome to the site 87 V20.  As Engineer said, yes to sway bar drop brackets, optional on t-case drop ( I personally do not like these ), but as far as brand goes, I prefer each person to do some homework on lifts and make a decision from there.
     There are several threads on this forum on this subject and peoples likes and dislikes.  There are ratings all over the internet from people who installed lifts also.
     The problem is each manufacture is going for different things with their lifts.  All 6" lifts will give you 6", but some lean more toward stability (stiffer ride), some flex ability (softer ride), and some try to do both.
     Of the lifts I have used in the past.  Rough country is a real rough ride (very stiff).  Sky jacker is more for flexing ( softer ride, but too high and cornering feels soft).  Tuff country is more to keep everything (steering parts ) in order and aligned right, giving it a little softer ride but sacrificing flex ability.  Rancho is one that tries to be in the middle.  There are a couple more but they are specific to off roading and in my opinion is not worth the cost on a mostly street machine.
     So as you can read, I really like for people to do some research on their own and decide.  Good luck and good reading.

you dont need the sway bar kit if you dont hook it back up . but if i knew then what i knew then i would of made my own its only like 3" box tubing with holes to drop the bushings. i have rough country and yes it is rough

Ok, preciate it yall!!!! And imma try to get some pictures on here as soon as I can...I just got the exhaust work done....dual straights with cherry bomb glasspacks....gotta love that crackel..haha

Welcome v20, Not really mentioned prior is the effect the lift will have on your steering. Thats a big issue and I would make sure whatever lift you pick that you try to maintain close to oem geometry. Caster  angle is a big deal it helps you from getting the dreaded " death wobble".What size rubber are you shooting for?

I have a 80 1ton with skyjacker 6" soft ride .no blocks all new springs with the nitro shocks.ride is very good. I also added the swaybar  drop  brackets.and the tcase lowering spacers.dont think you really need the tcase spacers it also puts the distributor cap real close to firewall.

the spacers actually make the driveline angles worse , the right way is to extend the front  shafts if need be after the lift

Im wantin to go with a 35s...nothin to big, but not to small...plus daily driver and she'lll be workin too, so dont wanna be to high...im thankin 4 inch lift with 35s.!!!

I have a 1976 4x4 and am working on a total rebuild.
I put a Rough Country 4" suspension lift on it and just got brand new 35's for it.
I had to minimally trim both the front and rear of the front fenders for clearance purposes.
I will say though, I have 10" wide rims with a 5" backspace and if the tires would have set in just a bit further, I may not have had to trim at all.

When I was running just my 4" lift the 35's I had at the time (on 10" wheels) didn't rub, but I don't have that much back spacing. I believe my backspacing is closer to 4".
