Local 1985 Chevy truck up for sealed bid. What's it worth?
« on: January 26, 2012, 04:02:36 pm »
Hi guys,

http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/cto/2815772677.html

I just saw this add on Craigslist and it's located about 30 miles from me.
I might just throw a bid in on it.

Any thoughts about what it might be worth?

Thank you as usual.

"Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle"

Its the Military GM pickups and Blazers,

When the Military would de-commision them they get offered to Government agencies and some non-profits  before they were sent to auction.

Lots of them were converted to fire trucks by Fire Departments and the Forest Service .

Anyways, its a J-code 6.2 Diesel TH400 NP-208 Dana 60 front with 4.56 gears ( some came with limited slips) the rear is a 14-bolt full floater with 4.56 gears and a Detroit locker. The have single fuel tanks and are pretty bare bone custom deluxe model trucks .

The M-1008 had an open differential Dana60.
The M-1028 had a Dana Trak-Lok differential in it's Dana60.

My '77 Chevy's Dana60 front has a Dana Power-Lok. :) (it's better than any of the rest ;D)

I would pay $3500.00 for it, it would be worth that.

I agree with everyone else. $3500 would be about what it's worth.
