76 Crew Cab K20 Silverado
« on: January 26, 2012, 11:20:36 pm »
Bought this Off the Original owner  when I first moved to AK, had to replace the Bed and 3 doors and I put a TH400/NP205  in it Sprayed it in Primer in my driveway and DD'd it for 6 months . Its been retired to the back yard and only gets used for firewood and dump runs and plowing snow.

Eventually I'll restore it but for now it makes a good beater truck

I like your truck.  I been tossing around the idea of getting one (I almost bought a 77, and I know where a 75 is now).  I have a 2000 GMC crew 4x4 that I drive as a DD now.  After I am done with my 74 k10 step side, I was thinking building one of these and replacing my GMC with a more classic ride.
I think I would probably bob it in the back a little though.  ( don't like long beds, and like to be different ).  Nice looking truck though, thanks for sharing ( and clearing up some confusion).

That would be a mean looking truck if you painted back in the original green  :D...

Looking at the Service Identification tag, what was the "Freedom Feature" that was deleted?

Actually the truck was green and white two tone . I saved all the trim and it will get repainted back to stock when I get the chance.

As for the "Freedom Features" I have no clue LOL.

It has A/C and Cruise  , I don't even think power locks and windows were available at that time so who know what hahaha

It looked really good when I bought it but the bed was hammered  and 3 of the 4 doors had  huge dents in them . I saved all the door panels from them and all the stock trim though.  I also have a NOS 73-74 grille and a good used core support

What else to say..... Crewcabs they are there own animal you can't help but love'em. The length takes some getting used to mine is over 22 feet long even with crossover steering it's still hard to get them 40 inch meats around in a circle. Them seem very rare does anyone know where there are production numbers for crewcabs over the years
