This goes out to all of you guys & gals that have posted on my threads and got me out of a whole loada poo. Starter, wires, vacuum hoses, thread sizes.

Thanks for putting up with what may seem silly questions but when you look at things too long the obvious isn't obvious!

So the good news is we fired the truck up today. Checked for spark then fuelled and fired first time and idled like a dream. The engine builder was spot on.

So that's a big hurdle done, now another couple of questions!

What does the radiator sit on and how is it held in?

Secondly, can you fit the outer fender before the inner or does the inner have to go on 1st?

Again, many thanks to you all for helping me get to where I am now.

Glad to hear.  The radiator sits on rubber mounts on the bottom of the core support.  454 is usually the tall ones and are held in on top with a bracket that is the length of the radiator if I remember it right.  I know I have one in my shed.  Hopefully someone will post a picture but I will if no one does.  I am a little under the weather today but hope to feel better enough to venture outside.

yes it is on rubber mounts and has the big bracket that goes the entire radiator

I have a 1976 Chevy with 35" tires on it.
I installed the outer fenders for a test fit and then installed the inner fender wells to make sure they lined up too.
So, on my truck you can certainly install the outer fenders, and the add the inner fenders later.
I just slid them in from the back and up and over the tires and into place.

     Bitzer, you are welcome, if it wasn't for people asking questions and all of us pooling out collective information we would not have such a great source to pull from on this forum.  And anyways we all have a spot where we have to ask questions sooner or later, so there are no silly questions, just questions.

Bake, you're quite right, there is never a silly question. I train lorry drivers for a profession and that's the 1st thing I tell them!!

I would take the front tires off when installing the inner fenders. It makes it easier and you have more room/less likely to scratch paint.

I normally do an update every 3 months ish. This is mainly because I only get a couple of hours here and there, so progress is slow.
If you search Jigsaw, you'll find the progress so far!

If the fenders are painted, lay the inners in first.  My recomendation.  You won't get it on without some manipulation with a tire on there.
