It has been awhile since I have been on here, but I need an answer. I have an 83 GMC C10 with 305 and TH350. I couldn't round up the time, so I took my truck in to have the tie rod ends installed that I had purchased. While it was there I asked the shop to fix a leak for me. It was the oil sending unit above the oil filter. Which was strange to me since I have a gauge and not a light. So I told them to just remove it and plug it. When I picked up the truck the choke light was on and has stayed on. It seems to be stuck also. It was a two wire sender. Did this just run power to the choke by closing the connection until the engine warmed up. HOw does this extra sender work? Do I need it to make the choke work properly, without cutting wires and running the power from somewher else? Also what sender should I buy to replace it?
